How much can I typically save with solar panels in the UK?

A typical UK household can save between up to £800 per year on electricity bills, depending on system size, usage habits, and your tariff. With rising energy prices, the savings potential is increasing year-on-year, especially when combined with smart energy management and battery storage.

What is the typical payback period for a solar installation?

Most homeowners in the UK see a payback period of 6 to 8 years. This can vary depending on your initial investment, available sunlight, electricity usage patterns, and whether you're using battery storage or exporting surplus energy.

Do solar panels work in cloudy UK weather?

Yes, absolutely. Solar panels still generate electricity even on overcast days — just at reduced efficiency. The UK receives enough daylight to make solar viable, especially with modern high-efficiency panels that perform well in diffused light.

What is the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)?

The SEG is a UK government-backed scheme that pays homeowners for excess electricity they export back to the grid from their solar panels. Rates vary by supplier, but it helps reduce the payback period and improve the return on your investment.

Do you install battery storage systems with solar panels?

Yes, we offer fully integrated battery storage solutions that allow you to store excess solar energy and use it when demand or tariffs are highest, such as during the evening or in a power cut. It's an ideal way to maximise your solar investment and futureproof your energy setup. We are Tesla Powerwall certified but can install other manufacturers also.

What are the benefits of an EV charger at home?

Having a dedicated EV charger at home offers faster, safer, and more cost-efficient charging compared to a standard plug socket. You can also schedule charging during off-peak hours, integrate with solar panels, and track usage via smart apps, giving you full control and long-term savings.

What is a smart home system?

A smart home system connects devices such as lighting, heating, blinds, security and entertainment into a single, unified platform — all controllable from your smartphone, tablet, or voice assistant. It adds convenience, security, and energy efficiency tailored to your lifestyle.

What is Control4 and how can it enhance my home?

Control4 is a premium smart home automation system that brings together all your connected devices into one simple interface. Whether you're dimming lights, streaming music, or setting a home cinema scene, Control4 provides seamless control, customisation, and reliability — from anywhere.

Can smart home technology save me money on energy bills?

Yes, smart technology can help you reduce energy waste and optimise usage. Automated lighting, zoned heating, motion sensors and smart thermostats all contribute to a more efficient home — with the added benefit of remote control and real-time insights.

Do you offer home cinema design and installation?

Yes, we specialise in bespoke home cinema design and installation, tailored to your space, budget and preferences. From acoustic treatment and ambient lighting to ultra-high-definition visuals and immersive surround sound — we'll create the ultimate cinema experience in your own home.

What size room do I need for a home cinema?

There's no one-size-fits-all. We can design immersive cinema experiences in spaces as compact as spare bedrooms or lofts, right up to full dedicated cinema rooms. The key is intelligent design — factoring in viewing angles, sound distribution, lighting control, and seating layout to make the most of any space.

What's the difference between a media room and a dedicated home cinema?

A media room is a flexible living space that doubles up for films, gaming, and social use — often with a large screen, sound system, and smart lighting. A dedicated home cinema is purpose-built for movie watching, with acoustic treatment, blackout control, projector setups, and often tiered seating. We design both, based on your lifestyle and preferences.

Can I control my home cinema with my phone or voice?

Yes. We integrate cinema systems with smart home platforms like Control4, allowing full control via smartphone, tablet, or voice assistant. Adjust lighting, blinds, volume, or even start your favourite film — all with a tap or simple voice command.

Is surround sound really worth it?

Absolutely. High-quality surround sound (like Dolby Atmos) is what transforms your space from a 'big TV' setup into a true cinematic experience. With carefully placed speakers and subwoofers, you feel every scene — not just watch it. It's one of the most impactful upgrades you can make.

Can I use my existing TV or speakers in a cinema setup?

Often, yes — but it depends on your current equipment. We're happy to audit your existing setup and recommend where to upgrade, reuse, or repurpose tech. Sometimes a few smart additions (like a quality AV receiver or acoustic panels) can make a huge difference without a full rebuild.
